Tori Anderson is a New York–based clown, writer, and performer
who creates original comedy with her collaborator and writing partner, Pat Reilly. Together, under the name 2 Raccoons, 1 Trenchcoat, (@2raccoons_1trenchcoat) they make ensemble-driven, physically playful theatre that delights in absurdity while still telling stories with genuine heart.
Their sold-out slapstick hit Rascals, a devised clowning piece about a group of raccoons in a Brooklyn dump who accidentally spark chaos when they kill the king of raccoons, premiered at The RAT NYC and was later presented at The Tank.
Most recently, Tori and Pat brought a pair of new one-act plays to The RAT NYC in Dumbo as part of their “2 for 1 Special.” Play Date: The Playground Wedding of Johnny & Suzy follows a meet cute, a first date, a wedding, and a messy divorce—all played out by two kids on a playground playing house. How to Manifest the End of the World follows two members of a doomsday cult trying desperately to recruit a fifth person so they can officially be a cult, all while the world is set to end thirty minutes after the show begins. When the Party Clown Ends captures the first awkward meeting of two former clown collaborators after a break-up, a mentor-mentee relationship now tinged with the comedic tension of “we can’t leave, but this is… awful.”
Other works in their canon include The Very Tori and Pat Christmas, a holiday comedy that revels in joyful chaos. Across their work, Tori and Pat are drawn to physical comedy and clowning, creating worlds where mistakes are big, stakes are high, and the jokes always land.
